In the global construction machinery
industry, CATERPILLAR has long been known for its innovation and reliability.
Recently, the company's new generation 320 hydraulic excavator has once again
proved its leadership in environmental protection and efficiency, becoming a
strong competitor in medium to heavy-duty applications.
CATERPILLAR's excavator products have been
evolving for decades to meet market and customer needs. Starting with the
demand for large, high-power machines in the European mining market in the late
In the 1960s, CATERPILLAR focused on developing more advanced mining techniques. In
1972, the company introduced the first customer-available hydraulic excavator,
the 225, which revolutionized job site productivity with its superior lifting,
excavating and loading capabilities.
In the 21st century, CATERPILLAR continues
to lead the industry as global demands for environmental protection and energy
efficiency continues to increase. In 2007, the company introduced the 320D
excavator model, which integrates advanced engine performance optimization
techniques while reducing exhaust emissions to meet stringent global emissions
standards. This innovation laid a solid foundation for CATERPILLAR's subsequent
products.
The introduction of the new 320 hydraulic
excavator to the market in 2017 is not only the latest manifestation of CATERPILLAR's
commitment to environmental protection and efficiency, but also the company's
commitment to helping customers achieve their climate and business goals. The
new generation family of hydraulic excavators significantly increases
productivity and efficiency by optimizing machine system performance. Since its
launch, the success of the system has led CATERPILLAR to migrate more models to
the platform in each subsequent year, with more than 50 models across the
entire excavator line adopting the technology by 2022.
The new generation 320 hydraulic excavator
uses a combination of a low-speed engine and a large hydraulic pump to achieve
a perfect balance of high performance and low fuel consumption. Its 320 Cat
diesel engine can run on up to 20% biodiesel fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) or
100% renewable diesel, hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO), and gas-to-liquid (GLT)
fuels, further demonstrating CATERPILLAR's leadership in sustainable energy
use.
In addition, CATERPILLAR's VisionLink
technology displays the CO2 emissions of monitored assets, calculated based on
the type of fuel burned during operation, providing customers with clear data
on energy use and environmental impact, helping them better manage their
businesses and meet environmental goals.
The launch of CATERPILLAR's new generation
320 hydraulic excavator not only demonstrates the company's innovation
capabilities in the field of construction machinery, but also highlights its
strong commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development. As
the global demand for green, efficient technologies continues to grow, CATERPILLAR
will continue to lead the industry in transforming and creating more value for
our customers.
